Local SEO Services Birmingham That Get You Found by Nearby Customers

Your next customer is searching nearby right now.

Our local SEO services start at £199 a month plus VAT and cover the work that decides whether you appear when someone nearby searches: your Google Business Profile, local keywords, your service and location pages, citations and reviews. We’re Birmingham-based, founder-led and rolling monthly, with no lock-in.

You deal with Nouman, the founder, not an account manager. He handles the keywords, the profile, the on-page work and your emails himself, so decisions take hours rather than a fortnight. We work with sole traders and small local teams.

If You’re Not in the Map Results, You’re Not on the Shortlist

When someone searches for a plumber, a dentist or a decorator near them, Google answers with a map and a short list of businesses. That block sits above the ordinary results, so whoever is in it usually gets the call.

Getting there has little to do with how smart your website looks. Google’s own local ranking guidance says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show up in local results, and that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.

So a half-finished profile, a phone number that differs across three directories, or one page covering every service in every town will keep you out of it. Ranking in the ordinary results is a related but separate job.

How Google Decides Which Local Businesses to Show

Google names three things in its local ranking guidance: relevance, how well your profile matches what was searched; distance, how far you are from the person searching; and prominence, how well known your business is. Local search engine optimisation is the work of improving the two you can actually influence.

Relevance comes from your categories, your services and the words on your pages. Prominence comes from reviews, citations, links and information that agrees with itself everywhere Google finds it. Distance you can’t change, which is why pages for towns you don’t really serve don’t work.

That boundary is Google’s too. Its guidelines for representing your business require a real location customers can visit, or one service-area profile with the address hidden if you travel to them instead.

The Honest Version

If you’re 20 miles from someone searching “near me”, distance will usually beat us. Our job is to win the searches where you’re a realistic choice, including every one that names your town or your service.

Local SEO Services

What’s Included in Our Local SEO Services

Local SEO for small businesses is a handful of unglamorous jobs done properly and kept up every month. Here’s what we do, in the order it matters. It runs on the same audit and on-page work as our wider SEO services, so you never pay twice for the same hour.

Your Google Business Profile, Finished Properly

Your profile often decides more about local rankings than your homepage does. We complete every field, choose the right primary and secondary categories, add services, photos and hours, then keep it current month by month.

Local Keyword Research

We find the terms people in your area actually type, including “near me” searches and town-plus-service searches. Starter covers up to 10 keywords, Growth up to 25, each mapped to one page so your own pages don’t compete.

On-Page Work on the Pages That Sell

Titles, headings, copy and internal links on the pages that bring enquiries. Starter covers up to 5 pages and Growth up to 15, which is usually enough to give every service its own page.

Consistent Name, Address and Phone Number

Your NAP details made identical on your website, your profile and the directories that already list you. Building new citations starts with Growth, where 20+ UK directories are included.

Local Schema Markup

We add LocalBusiness markup so search engines can read your address, hours, services and area served without guessing. It’s the same technical groundwork we laid for Prestige Painting Solutions in Manchester.

A Review Routine You Can Keep

We set up a simple way to ask every customer for a Google review, and Growth includes a review strategy. We never buy, write or incentivise reviews, because Google’s policies and UK law both prohibit it.

Technical Fixes and a Monthly Report

Speed, indexing and mobile problems fixed as they turn up. Your report then lists every job we did that month, every page we built with its link, an internal linking report and your Google Search Console figures.

Not sure which of these you’re missing? The small business SEO audit walks you through the checks before you pay anyone.

How Local SEO Runs

How We Run Local SEO, Month by Month

You always know what’s happening and what’s next. The first weeks are heaviest on our side: audit, profile, keyword mapping and on-page fixes. After that it settles into a monthly rhythm of improvements, reviews and reporting.

01

SEO Audit and Analysis

Your current website is thoroughly audited. Technical issues, content gaps, keyword opportunities, and competitor positions are all analysed. This audit becomes the roadmap for everything that follows.

02

Keyword Research

Data-driven keyword research is conducted to identify the exact terms your customers are searching for. Keywords are prioritised by search volume, competition level, and commercial intent so effort is focused where it matters most.

03

Competitor Analysis

Your top-ranking competitors are studied in detail. Their keywords, backlinks, content strategies, and technical strengths are mapped. This intelligence is used to find gaps and opportunities they’ve missed.

04

On-Page Optimisation

Every page on your website is optimised with targeted keywords, compelling meta titles and descriptions, heading structures, image alt text, and internal links. Content is refined to match search intent precisely.

05

Technical SEO Fixes

Behind-the-scenes issues are resolved. Site speed is improved. Mobile experience is tested. Schema markup is added. Crawl errors are fixed. Sitemaps and robots.txt are configured properly.

06

GMB Optimisation

Your Google Business Profile is fully optimised with accurate categories, service descriptions, business hours, photos, and a review generation strategy. This is essential for appearing in the local Map Pack.

07

Content Creation and Optimisation

New SEO content is created to target valuable keywords. Existing content is refreshed and improved. Blog posts, service pages, and location pages are all used to build topical authority in your industry.

08

Local Citation Building

Your business details are submitted to trusted UK directories and industry-specific platforms. Consistent Name, Address, and Phone (NAP) data across the web strengthens your local SEO signals.

09

Monthly Reporting

Detailed monthly reports are provided showing keyword rankings, organic traffic, Google Business Profile performance, and enquiry tracking. The strategy is continuously refined based on real data, not guesswork.

Why Anchor

Why Small Businesses Choose Anchor as Their Local SEO Agency

From experience, Nouman: Before Anchor Web Agency I spent years freelancing on WordPress projects for clients in the UK, Belgium, France and the USA. The local work that moved fastest was never clever: a finished profile, details that matched everywhere, one honest page per service.

Nouman, founder of Anchor Web Agency, WordPress web designer UK

“Very knowledgeable and always willing to put in the work needed to get you the desired outcome. Highly recommend!”

Sam Cohen, Pitstop 66

You Talk to the Founder

Your questions, your report and your profile all go through Nouman, by WhatsApp, email, phone or video call. Enquiries are answered within 24 hours, usually sooner.

Rolling Monthly, No Lock-In

Local SEO runs from £199 to £699 a month plus VAT, month to month. No long contract, no notice period games and no hidden fees.

One Page per Service, Not One Page for Everything

For Pitstop 66 in Manchester that meant separate pages for supercar, classic and long-term car storage, each aimed at Manchester and the North West rather than one page chasing all three. We build the sites too, so a new page or schema fix doesn’t wait on another agency.

Proof You Can Check

100+ projects and a 5-star rating. The clearest example is the Manchester decorator whose new site, local SEO and ads brought in 81 leads in 12 weeks at £23.97 a lead, measured in Google Ads.

How much do local SEO services cost?

Our local SEO packages are £199, £399 and £699 a month, all excluding VAT and rolling monthly with no lock-in. Starter suits a single-location business with a few services. Growth adds more keywords, more pages and a review strategy. The monthly fee is agreed before we start.

Mostly in where the competition is. Local SEO targets searches with a place attached, so your Google Business Profile, categories, reviews and location pages matter as much as your website. Broader SEO chases national terms. Most local businesses need the local work first, then the wider keywords.

Yes, and Google supports it. If you travel to customers you can run a service-area profile and hide your address, which is what Google’s guidelines tell tradespeople working from home to do. You still appear for searches in the areas you cover, without publishing your home address.

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google’s own guidance says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and its local ranking help page states plainly that there’s no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. We work on relevance and prominence, then show you what moved.

We set up a routine for asking every customer at the right moment, and the Growth package includes a review strategy. We won’t buy reviews, write them or offer anything in exchange: Google’s policies ban paid and incentivised reviews, and the CMA’s rules make fake reviews unlawful in the UK.

Profile and citation fixes can register quickly because Google re-reads that information often. Competitive map rankings take longer, and anyone promising a date is guessing. You’ll see the work and the numbers every month, and you can stop at any point because it’s rolling monthly.

No. We’re based in Birmingham, so a lot of our work is for Midlands businesses. Projects have also been delivered in Manchester, London and across the UK, all run over WhatsApp, email, phone and video calls. Searching “local SEO near me” doesn’t have to mean the next street.

Nobody certifies local SEO experts, so judge them on specifics: who actually does the work, what you’ll receive each month, whether you keep full access to your own Google Business Profile, and whether the contract is rolling or fixed. Ask us the same questions before you sign anything.
